Chris Pappas is an proven advocate for clean energy in New Hampshire, where he is a small-business owner who has served both as a State Representative and on the Executive Council.
As a member of the New Hampshire Executive Council, Pappas worked to secure investments in clean energy across the state, supporting projects that involved solar, wind, and geothermal, among other alternative energy sources. He is an outspoken critic of the Trump Administration’s decisions to leave the Paris Climate Agreement and end the Clean Power Plan.
As a representative, Pappas will work to hold the Trump Administration accountable and advocate for environmental preservation and renewable energy sources. He is the first openly LGBTQ member of Congress from New Hampshire.
Pappas joins the U.S. House to fill the seat of retiring Representative Carol Shea-Porter, who earned a 97% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
In his own words:
“New Hampshire’s way of life and economy is rooted in our coastline, lakes, mountains, forests, and natural surroundings. We should all work to leave our environment better than we found it; that means promoting clean energy, supporting environmental protection, and confronting the existential threat of climate change head-on.”
