Andy Levin is a lifelong environmental activist, who has a proven track record of promoting clean energy.
Levin has advocated for the environment throughout his career. He founded Lean & Green Michigan, an energy finance marketplace that helps businesses and nonprofits to finance clean energy throughout the state. He also served as Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth from 2007 to 2011. Previously, Levin worked as a union organizer and workers’ rights advocate, and has also joined efforts to prevent drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
As a representative, he will continue to fight for our environment by advocating for the preservation of natural resources and the urgent need to address climate change, as well as to work to make Michigan a leader in clean energy technology.
Levin joins the U.S. House to fill the seat of retiring Representative Sander Levin, who earned a 91% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
In his own words:
“Above all, we must address climate change with tremendous urgency. Saving our planet and our people from global warming is a moral imperative, but it’s also an economic opportunity. I created Lean & Green Michigan to help businesses and nonprofits retrofit their buildings for energy efficiency, water efficiency and renewable energy like solar.”
