Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Dina Titus for re-election to the U.S. House from Nevada’s 1st Congressional District.

“Representative Dina Titus has been a strong advocate in Congress and has prioritized climate action,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “She has stood up to the Trump administration and their toxic agenda in Nevada, and we are proud to support her for re-election.”

“Representative Dina Titus has been an environmental champion and fierce advocate in Nevada for nearly 30 years from her time serving in the state senate to the U.S. Congress,” said Andy Maggi, Executive Director of Nevada Conservation League. “We need her allyship and expertise in Congress to keep nuclear waste out of Nevada and to protect the Desert National Wildlife Refuge.”

“I’m proud to have earned the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and to continue working with them to protect our public lands, invest in renewable energy, and combat climate change,” said Representative Dina Titus. “I will also remain steadfast in the fight against the dangerous effort to revitalize Yucca Mountain.”

Representative Dina Titus was first elected to represent Nevada’s First District in Congress in 2012. She has been a strong proponent of clean energy and has co-sponsored several bills to encourage renewable energy development. She has also led the charge against irresponsible nuclear waste disposal in Nevada and recently introduced the Nuclear Waste Informed Consent Act. Titus is the dean of Nevada’s Congressional delegation. She is a proud member of the House Committees on Transportation and Infrastructure, Foreign Affairs, and Homeland Security. In 2018, Titus was elected to become the Chair of a key Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee, where she works to help Nevada’s communities better respond to natural disasters, address the devastating impacts of climate change, and fight for infrastructure projects that will benefit the most vulnerable. Prior to serving in Congress, she served in the Nevada State Senate including as the Democratic Minority Leader from 1993 to 2008. She is also a noted non-fiction writer, internationally known for her expertise in the history and policies related to nuclear power, weaponry, and waste.
